Tanzania Holiday Packages
A country of superlatives: Africa's highest peak, the world's largest game reserve, Africa's deepest lake, Zanzibar, sun-bleached coral sands and the highly romanticised Swahili Culture. Tanzania is a destination that both inspires and delivers on so many levels.
The Really Wild Travel Company first established in Tanzania in 1999 specialising in providing support services for those wishing to undertake the challenge of ascending the World's highest freestanding mountain: Mt Kilimanjaro at 5,895m above sea level. It is from here that we have rapidly moved towards becoming the premier mountain climbing company in Tanzania. Our market leading service offers first class equipment, service, support, backup and safety.
Rising majestically from the hot and dusty plains of Northern Tanzania towards a spectacular snow-capped peak, Mount Kilimanjaro is without doubt one of the great natural wonders of the world. It's the highest mountain in Africa and the largest free standing mountain on the planet. Climbing Kilimanjaro really is a must-do challenge for anyone with a sense of adventure who is looking for that challenge of a lifetime.
We operate climbs across three of the quieter, more remote routes to ascend Mt Kilimanjaro:
Over 6 or 7 days the route is one of the most challenging on the mountain but also one of the most rewarding. This route is favored for its good acclimatization time allowing for an average 97% success rate. It is also the most scenic route on the mountain and carves one of the final summit approaches via Stella Point, a magical journey to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa.
A seldom trodden path, the Rongai Route is quieter and approaches the mountain from the north over 7 days. It is quite an easy approach with very good acclimatization time allowing for a very high success rate. A more 'off the beaten track' approach to the mountain. It joins the Marangu Route for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. Highly Recommended!
The quietest, less spoilt and richest in diversity. This route over 8 days gives un-rivaled acclimatization time, and the opportunity to view big game animals on the approach (Buffalo, Elephant). It joins the Machame Route for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. Highly recommended!
Mount Meru is one of Africa's most spectacular volcanoes and it is the second highest mountain in Tanzania at 4,566m. The ascent up Meru is quite steep, and the route to the summit passes over streams, parkland, forest, a giant heather zone and moorland giving quite a unique diversity of flora and fauna. The summit is reached by a narrow, barren ridge which provides stunning views of the Ash Cone lying several thousand feet below in the crater as well as directly East towards Mt Kilimanjaro.
A more off the beaten track alternative to Mt Kilimanjaro, taken over 3-days the mountain is a significant challenge in its own right.
A fantastic fundraising event or a fantastic pre-cursor to take on a Mt Kilimanjaro climb itself. An annual event on 1st March each year the Kilimanjaro Marathon attracts athletes from all over East Africa and internationally.
*Prices exclude international air-fares.
